Mini FAQ
How does surrogate mother matching work?
Nova Espero maintains and coordinates its own working database of surrogate candidates. We review your medical pathway, timing and practical preferences before preparing a suitable shortlist. Candidates participate voluntarily and may also consider programs through other organisations, so availability must always be confirmed.
A profile in the database is not a final medical approval. The selected candidate undergoes current medical review under the treating clinic’s protocol before an embryo transfer is planned. Our surrogate coordinators organise the matching, appointments, documents and communication throughout the process.
How does egg donor matching work?
The public database contains non-identifying donor characteristics. Photographs, contact details and protected medical or personal information are not displayed publicly. Authorised Nova Espero clients can receive the information required for responsible matching.
Tell us your priorities and we will confirm current availability, prepare a shortlist and coordinate the selected donor with the treating doctor and embryology team. Final participation depends on updated screening and the clinic’s medical approval for that cycle.
How are candidates screened?
Initial database review includes relevant personal, reproductive and medical information. Before treatment, the selected donor or surrogate is examined again according to the current clinic protocol. A surrogate also receives psychological assessment and support.
Smoking, substance use and other circumstances that may make participation unsafe are not acceptable. Because health and circumstances can change, an older examination is never treated as permanent approval.
Can we communicate with our surrogate mother?
Yes. We encourage respectful direct communication between intended parents and the surrogate mother. Our coordinators help with introductions, communication and practical questions, while our psychologist supports the surrogate before and during the program. Families may also make agreed monthly payments directly to the surrogate mother’s account if they prefer.
I found a profile I like. What should I do next?
Copy the profile link and send it to us through the contact page, email or WhatsApp. We will check current availability, confirm whether the candidate is interested in your program and explain the next medical and coordination steps. Please do not rely on a profile as confirmation until our team has checked it.
How many profiles should we shortlist?
A shortlist of up to five preferred profiles is usually the most practical starting point. Availability can change and not every candidate will be medically approved for every program, so several thoughtful options help us move efficiently. If none is suitable, we will continue the search with you.
Can you help us choose a donor or surrogate?
Yes. Share your medical situation, preferences and timing with us. Our donor or surrogate coordinators will prepare suitable options and explain the practical differences. The treating doctor remains responsible for medical approval, while the final choice is made together with the family.
How long does it take to start a program?
Timing is individual. It depends on the family’s medical plan, candidate availability, updated screening, clinic scheduling, legal documents and, where relevant, cycle synchronisation or embryo transport. After reviewing your case, we will give you a realistic sequence of steps instead of promising a fixed start date.
